Add custom backgrounds to Google homepage

Google is following Bing’s footsteps to jazz up the simple looking homepage we are so used to seeing. After a recent rebranding on the logo and homepage, Google is now experimenting with allowing custom background on its homepage.

How is Google’s approach different from Bing:

1. Google’s option is available only for register users.
2. Users can put personal photos as their background image. These pictures can be picked from your Computer, Picasa Web Album or public gallery hosted by Picasa.
3. Google’s approach cover’s the entire browser window. Well almost.

This feature is currently been rolled out for Google users in U.S. and would gradually be available for International Users. You can show off your personal Google Homepage by using the hashtag #myGooglepage.
